Three drug smuggling attempts foiled by ASF

The Airport Security Force (ASF) carried out three major operations at two different airports in a single day, leading to significant drug seizures.

According to an ASF spokesperson, the first operation took place at Peshawar Airport, where officials recovered 455 grams of narcotics hidden in a passenger’s shoes. The individual was traveling to Dubai.

In the second operation at Islamabad Airport, ASF personnel seized 1.840 kilograms of ice heroin from a female passenger en route to Bahrain. The drugs were concealed in her shoes.

A third operation, also conducted at Islamabad Airport, led to the recovery of 6.172 kilograms of heroin-infused clothing from another passenger traveling to Bahrain.

Earlier this month, the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) thwarted an attempt to smuggle drugs into Pakistan and arrested a Ugandan woman who had traveled from Dubai to Karachi.

According to an ANF spokesperson, the suspect confessed to carrying drug-filled capsules. She was taken to a hospital, where authorities recovered 144 grams of cocaine from her possession.

Further investigation revealed that a Nigerian accomplice was involved in the smuggling attempt. Based on intelligence reports, ANF apprehended the Nigerian suspect from a hotel in Lahore.
