Serena Williams Responds To Skin Bleaching Allegations (VIDEO)

Serena Williams isn’t letting the trolls get away with THIS one! Though she usually doesn’t address rumors and speculations, the tennis champ recently clapped back. Specifically, she cleared the air as allegations about whether she has been bleaching her skin have been going viral.

Serena Williams Addresses Skin Bleaching Comments

In a stream captured by Live Bitez, Serena seemed to have a spicy tone while reacting to the skin-bleaching talks. The video excerpt begins with Williams sarcastically explaining how suntans work.

“For you haters out there. I do not bleach my skin. There is a thing called sunlight, and in that sunlight, you get different colors,” Serena said.

Additionally, Serena Williams called the bleaching comments “ridiculous.” She also seemingly blamed her skin tone variation on retouching photos and select moments, like when she wore stage makeup during her daughter’s play.

“I’m a dark black woman, and I love who I am, and I love how I look, and that’s just not my thing. And if people do it that’s their thing and they have every opportunity and they should. I don’t judge, but you guys do. But that’s what this world is about and I stay in my lane, the non-judgy one…but no I actually don’t bleach my skin. So, can we just kinda clear that up,” the tennis champ said.

Serena’s Husband Underwent Surgery For THIS

While the innanet obsesses over Serena Williams’ skin, when offline, she’s likely tied up with her husband’s recovery. Alexis Ohanian recently got thyroid surgery after experiencing a cancer scare.

The 41-year-old revealed on Thanksgiving that he had half of his thyroid removed due to “suspicious nodules.” The nodules had grown in size over the last four years, and because Alexis’ family has a history of cancer deaths, he didn’t want to take any chances. He did not mention Serena Williams in the post, but did their daughters. Ultimately, he encouraged other dads to stay on top of their health!

“I wasn’t gonna take any chances; the surgery was smooth and I’m extra grateful this Thanksgiving because I got the call this morning that my now-removed-half-of-thyroid was indeed full of some gnarly nodules that were very likely to become cancerous,” Alexis wrote. “The worst part tbh has been not being able to lift for 2 weeks but big fella will be back at it next week and I took my girls to Disney World this week so life is wonderful.”
