Garth Brooks, known for his influential music career, was named in a lawsuit filed in October 2024, where a woman, identified as “Jane Roe,” accused him of rape and sexual assault. She claims to have worked as his makeup artist, as well as for his wife, Trisha Yearwood. Brooks denied the allegations, stating in a statement to E! News at the time, “For the last two months, I have been hassled to no end with threats, lies, and tragic tales of what my future would be if I did not write a check for many millions of dollars.”
Yearwood did not publicly comment on the situation but posted an Instagram photo on October 7, 2024, of the two performing together with the caption “Love One Another” and comments disabled. This has raised questions about the couple’s current relationship amidst the ongoing legal battle.

Garth Brooks’ Lawsuit
In the lawsuit, Jane Roe alleged that she was sexually assaulted during a trip to Los Angeles for a Grammy tribute performance, where they traveled alone. According to documents obtained by CNN, it was noted, “Once in Los Angeles at the hotel, Ms. Roe could not believe that Brooks had booked a hotel suite with one bedroom and she did not have a separate room.” It was also reported that once inside the hotel room, Brooks “appeared in the doorway to the bedroom, completely naked,” which made her feel “trapped in the room alone with Brooks.”
In response, Brooks filed a lawsuit against the accuser, claiming that he was the “victim of a shakedown,” per ABC News. In December 2024, Brooks’s petition to dismiss the lawsuit was denied, per E! News.
