DDG Slams Joe Budden For Highlighting Breakup With Halle Bailey

Published:

Chile! DDG shared a few spicy clapbacks for Joe Budden on Saturday (Oct. 5). The streamer’s jabs follow Budden’s comments on his podcast about DDG and Halle Bailey‘s breakup.

As previously reported, DDG announced his and Halle’s alleged split on Thursday (Oct. 3) via Instagram Stories. He assured fans that they remain best friends and claimed the decision to part was mutual. However, Halle has yet to confirm or deny the life update publicly. Meanwhile, her alleged ex-boyfriend and father of her son, Halo, has already gone viral at least twice since the announcement.

Here’s What Joey Said On His Podcast

In a recent episode of his podcast, Budden shared that he’s been asking himself the question, “Who the f**k is DDG” for a hot minute. Additionally, Joey questioned why he’s “supposed to care about his thoughts on anything.” After someone else tried to explain the streamer’s relevancy as a rapper, Joe interjected and said he was “glad” for the breakup.

“They’ve broken up, so I don’t get to keep seeing this n***a’s name attached to this girl’s name, and I don’t know him for nothing as a stand-alone, and for me, it’s important based on their own name and merit and what they have done.”

Joe Budden clarified that he’s also not too familiar with Halle Bailey, stating that he isn’t the demographic for the ex-couple. Still, Joe said that DDG’s public attachment to Halle is always in a clout-chaser kind of way.

“Every time I see his name, it’s attached to hers, and it’s typically in some clout chaser fashion. So that makes me look at him a different way, and hopefully, I get to look at him a lot less now that they’ve broken up,” Joe Budden said of DDG.

DDG Disses Joe Budden Over Podcast Comments

In response to Joe Budden’s lil’ shade, DDG popped off on X (formerly Twitter). The streamer began by sharing screenshots of Joe’s ‘Pump It Up’ RIAA stat compared to his own for four songs. Additionally, he included a screenshot of Joe’s age, which is 44 as of August 31. In his caption, DDG wrote, “‘Pump It Up’ went gold after 20 years u old b***h. @Joe Budden I’m on u.”

“Ion be trippin bout the girls sayin sh*t cuz I’m used to it. It’s all love. But u n****s wit platforms gon get a response fasho,” he added in a separate post.

A third post weaponized Joe Budden’s age for a second time and mentioned Joe Budden’s 23-year-old son, Trey. He tagged Joey in the first and third posts.

“N***a got 30 years MAX of life left & speakin on a relationship of people the same age as yo son you’n take care of. I hope u forget to take your magnesium pills today u old b***h.”

An hour after DDG shared his first clapback, Joey quoted the post and replied with, “Lol.” In a second separate post, he wrote, “I love this place lol.”

What Else Has The Streamer Said, So Far?

It’s unclear why and when DDG and Halle Bailey allegedly decided to end their relationship. A post leaked from his alleged Close Friends on Instagram Stories stated that they split because of “personal reasons.”

Additionally, the post took jabs at Bailey’s alleged performance level regarding intimacy. DDG later denied creating the post on X.

Meanwhile, a circulating video from his most recent ‘No Ordinary Podcast’ seems to give some insight straight from the source. In the clip, he talks about the advice he’d offer his younger self about romantic relationships. Interestingly enough, the episode was released on the same day as his breakup announcement.
