The Dutchman attributed their disappointing results to a lengthy injury list, a sentiment seemingly supported by minority owner and INEOS boss Sir Jim Ratcliffe, along with their success in cup competitions. Nonetheless, this could be viewed as Ten Hag’s final opportunity to prove himself.
Amidst speculation regarding his future, various candidates such as Mauricio Pochettino, Thomas Tuchel, Roberto De Zerbi, and Thomas Frank were considered, but the recent decision has put an end to that.
