According to reports from L’Equipe, PSG have withheld Kylian Mbappe’s wages for April, May, and are also planning not to pay him for June. Mbappe’s current contract is set to expire on June 30, and resolving this issue is crucial before then. The total amount owed by the club to Mbappe is approximately €100 million (£84 million).

The relationship between Mbappe and PSG has been turbulent ever since he declined to sign a contract extension at the start of the 2023/24 season. He was initially excluded from the first team but later reintegrated. Mbappe will now depart PSG on a free transfer to join Real Madrid, one of La Liga’s prominent clubs.

L’Equipe reached out to the Ligue 1 champions for a statement on the issue, to which they responded that ongoing negotiations are underway between the involved parties to address the situation.

Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe is away representing France at Euro 2024. In the team’s first match against Austria, he assisted their sole goal of the tournament. However, he did not participate in the subsequent 0-0 draw against the Netherlands due to a broken nose.
