Here’s What Latto Revealed About Her Decision To Undergo BBL Surgery

According to Complex, Latto recently spoke to fans about her decision to go under the knife. A video posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, appears to show that the rapper opened up about the topic via a video post on her Snapchat.

In the video, Latto appears to be answering a question: “And why you got a bbl? I’m just curious”

In response, the 25-year-old explained that she made the decision after signing her record deal with RCA at around 21.

“My body was so tea. I gained a little weight ’cause I signed my deal when I was 21 — when I had just turned 21. And I was just having money and living a whole new life, eating out,” she told fans. “Y’all know I’m a foodie, so now I had the funds to, like, feed this foodie in me and stuff, so I gained a little weight.”

In response, Latto explained that “everybody on the internet” called her “bad-bodied.”

“And everybody on the internet was calling me ‘bad-bodied’ and stuff, so I feel like that played a role,” she said. “I started being a little insecure about my body.”

The rapper went on to say that, at the time, she was “young and impressionable.”

“So yeah, to answer the question, I guess that’s kind of why, but looking back, like, b***h, I didn’t need that,” she concluded.

The Rapper Opens Up About The Criticism That Continued Afterward

According to Complex, Latto’s candid discussion with fans didn’t end there. The rapper explained that she still received negative comments about her BBL surgery.

“Every time I post a gym picture, people be like, ‘Oh, she got a BBL,’ she said. “I’ve been so loud and clear about a BBL that I had four years ago. When I was 21, [the BBL] that y’all convinced me I needed, by the way.”

VIBE adds that Latto maintained that despite her BBL, “this” is all her.

“B*****s be on their third, fourth round by now. I got one BBL four years ago,” she reiterated. “This is all me now, know that. I get my a** up and go to the gym!”

According to the outlet, the rapper concluded on the topic by sharing that she believes everyone should “stop worrying” about the next person.

“Moral of the story, I just think everybody should just stop worrying about everybody,” she explained, per VIBE. “Natural girls are winning. Surgery girls… BBL girls are winning. Do what works for you and mind your own business. Make your own decisions based on what you want to do, not what other people are telling you to do.”

This Isn’t The First Time Latto Has Opened Up About Her Surgical Procedures

As The Shade Room previously reported, Latto initially revealed she underwent plastic surgery in April 2023. At the time, the ‘Big Energy’ rapper hosted an episode of her Apple Music radio show, ‘777.’ Additionally, her younger sister, Brooklyn Nikole, had joined her as a guest.

During the episode, Latto revealed she “got a little work done.” In response, Nikole explained that many people wouldn’t know because she looks “so good.”

“Because a b***h be looking natural,” Latto replied. “Because — this one thing about it — if you going to do it, do it right. I’m going to do it right. I did it right…”

Despite her revelation, the rapper shared a message for all the “young girls” and women listening.

“…I’m telling you, to all the young girls listening, all the women listening right now. I’m telling you from someone who’s been there, done it — find peace within your natural state,” she said. “Because you’re going to find a flaw and another flaw and another flaw and another flaw. Surgery, any of that stuff is not a permanent fix.”

Then, in June of that year, the rapper shared that she also underwent 360 liposuction while opening up about the maintenance both procedures require, per The Shade Room.

“I got a BBL in 2020. I also got 360 lipo. That’s on my stomach, back, sides, and whole torso,” she explained. “But then you’ve got to maintain it. So I just hired a trainer… If you look on my Instagram, you’ll see I’ve always worked out — before and after the surgery. But I will leave early or not push myself as hard. Having a trainer holds you accountable.”
