- PAK vs NZ sencind T20 will be played today.
- The likelihood of rain today is less.
- The first match was washed by rain.
The second T20I of the five-match series between Pakistan and New Zealand is scheduled to take place at the Pindi Cricket Stadium on the coming Saturday.
Babar Azam, who has recently been reinstated as the captain for white-ball cricket, will lead the Pakistani team, known as the Green Shirts. They are set to start their training for the 2024 T20 World Cup, especially since the first match was abruptly halted due to continuous rainfall.
Given that the players were unable to participate in the first match, it is expected that both teams will retain the same playing XI that was present on the field on the rainy night of April 18 in Rawalpindi.
It’s worth noting that Imad Wasim, who recently reversed his retirement decision, was not part of the first match’s playing XI. This decision to exclude the 35-year-old was not well-received by the cricket community, but he is expected to be on the bench in the upcoming match.
Probable Teams
Pakistan: Babar Azam (c), Saim Ayub, Mohammad Rizwan, Usman Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Muhammad Irfan Khan, Shadab Khan, Shaheen Shah Afridi, Naseem Shah, Mohammad Amir, Abrar Ahmed
New Zealand: Michael Bracewell (c), Mark Chapman, Josh Clarkson, Jacob Duffy, Dean Foxcroft, Ben Lister, James Neesham, Tim Robinson, Ben Sears, Tim Seifert (wk), Ish Sodhi
The first match was dominated by relentless rain, but the weather forecast for the second T20I on Saturday shows a decrease in the likelihood of rain, according to The Weather Channel.
The probability of rain on April 20 is significantly lower at 24 percent, compared to 49 percent on the same day last Thursday.
There is a high possibility that spectators will be able to enjoy a full match on Sunday, during the third T20I, as the weather forecast predicts clear skies with only a 12 percent chance of rain.
Following the initial three matches at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, both teams will relocate to Lahore to play the final two T20Is of the series on April 25 and 27, respectively.
