Emily Blunt just did what we all wish we could do when it comes to picking out a pair of shoes for fancier occasions. We all normally go for the safest option when the dress code calls for something a little more formal — AKA a pair of heels (even when our feet are screaming that we don’t). But Blunt decided to save her feet for a night and switch out the heels for a much comfier pair of tennis shoes, allowing Us to have the confidence to do the same.
For an appearance on Saturday Night Live, the Devil Wears Prada actress went against the grain completely. Instead of opting for an expensive pair of heels like stars normally wear for an appearance on the show, she opted for the Puma Suede Classic XXI Sneakers — which are also incredibly affordable. Even though Blunt opted for these Puma sneakers, it doesn’t make them any less chic than a pair of heels. I mean, if you check out her sleek all-black outfit, she had no choice but to find an equally stylish pair of shoes to go with it — and these sneakers were the perfect fit. With the sneakers, Blunt wore an ensemble consisting of a sheer, off-the-shoulder puff-sleeve top with a silky pair of trousers, topped off with a silver necklace.
The standout feature that makes these Puma sneakers more fashionable than most is the all-suede upper, giving them a velvety appearance. They also have the classic Puma design on each side of the shoe, with the curved, three-stripe marking and rounded toe. For cushioning, the tennis shoes have a comfort sockliner and a rubber midsole. There’s also a rubber outsole for strong grip, traction and durability.
Blunt proved that these sneakers can go beyond just pairing with a casual outfit. While the movie star paired them with satin trousers, we’re sure they could look just as fabulous with a dress, skirt or even a pair of jeans.
