RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces eliminated three terrorists in an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Balochistan’s Harnai District, while two army personnel, including a major, embraced martyrdom, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) reported on Thursday.
According to ISPR, on November 14, 2024, security forces, led by Major Muhammad Haseeb, were mobilized upon receiving reports of terrorists planning attacks on innocent civilians in the area. The operation effectively neutralized three terrorists.
Tragically, during the operation, an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near the lead vehicle of the security forces. Major Muhammad Haseeb, 28, from Multan, who was leading from the front, and Havildar Noor Ahmed, 38, from Barkhan, fought valiantly before making the ultimate sacrifice and embracing martyrdom.
The ISPR commended the sacrifices of these brave soldiers, reaffirming the commitment of Pakistan’s security forces to thwart attempts to disrupt peace and stability in Balochistan. “Such sacrifices strengthen our resolve to ensure progress and stability in the region,” the statement added.
In a similar operation on October 30, 2024, security forces conducted an IBO in the Bakka Khel area of Bannu District, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, targeting Khawarij militants. Eight terrorists were killed during the operation, but three army personnel, including Major Atif Khalil, also embraced martyrdom.
Major Atif Khalil, 31, from Sudhanuti, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, fought bravely while leading his troops. He was martyred alongside Naik Azad Ullah, 36, from Karak, and Lance Naik Ghazanfar Abbas, 35, from Layyah, who also made the ultimate sacrifice.
